DECEMBER

12th Annual Feather Bingo is on Saturday, December 9th at the Yale Sacred Heart Catholic Church Hall, 310 N. Main Street, Yale. The doors will open at 11:00 a.m. with bingo starting at 1:00 p.m. Bingo cards are $5 per book, concessions and a 50/50 raffle available. This year our first prize winners will receive a turkey and a second prize will receive a basket full of goodies to make a chicken dinner for two including our homemade frozen Dutch apple pies. Our final cover all will remain a CASH Prize and everyone that Bingos will receive at least a frozen homemade apple pie as a consolation prize. All extra prizes remaining at the end of the day will be raffled off with the purchase of a $1 numbered chip. If your number is chosen you win a pie.

Christmas Party will be on December 22nd at the Yale Senior Center. Our party will begin at 11:30 a.m. with a Christmas Wright Story gift exchange. Please bring a wrapped white elephant gift. Everyone is welcome to bring a dessert to pass that accompanies our Christmas lunch. Lunch reservations must be made by Monday, December 18th by 10:00 a.m. Call 810-387-3720. The final activity beginning at 12:30 p.m. will be Hobby Horse Races, so bring your nickels.

 
Yale Elementary Santa Shop Crafts – This year the Yale Senior Center will have a table at the Yale Elementary School Santa Shop on December 15th. Volunteers are needed to make crafts on December 4th, December 6th and December 14th at 12:30 p.m. Volunteers are needed to help with our table at the Yale Santa Shop on December 15th from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. The projects will be a Snowman Craft (make a snowman from white and colorful socks, no sewing necessary) and Perler Bead Sun Catchers & Magnets.

 

JANUARY

WANTED … Soup & Chili Cook-Off Contenders. Do you have that favorite soup or chili that everyone raves about? Everyone is welcome to enter the Soup & Chili Cook-Off Contest. Please call Sue at 810-387-3720 with the type of Soup and/or Chili that you plan to enter before January 25. All entries of one crock pot full of Soup/Chili must be in place before 4:00 p.m. on Friday, January 26.


Our 12th Annual Soup & Chili Cook Off begins at 4:00 p.m. on January 26 with all you can eat soup and chili. Cost is $5 per person. Enjoy a nice warm meal of homemade soups and/or chili, bread, dessert and beverage. Bring the whole family to sample a large variety of soup and chili and vote for your favorite.


At 6:00 p.m. the room will begin to fill with Euchre Players. Join us for a fun and healthy Euchre Tournament starting at 6:30 p.m. on January 26. We play progressive euchre, 10 games with 8 hands. There is a dime charge per person for each euchre. Prizes depend on the number of people attending. There will be first, second, third place cash prizes and a boobie prize for the lowest score. Snowfest Party on Monday, January 8. Reservations are required 24 hours in advance. Call 810-387- 3720. At 10:00 a.m. there will be a Hot Chocolate Social & Movie Moment in History “Ice Harvesting in St. Clair County & The Pray Ice Plow”. at 10:30 a.m. Snowfest Games – guarantee to make you laugh and shake those winter blues…Indoor snowball fight; build a snowman; snow pile and trail; find the snow storm; make snowflakes; roll a snowman, just to name a few. At 12:00 noon join us for lunch for homemade vegetable soup, grilled cheese, peaches and a special dessert. Reservations must be made by January 5. At 12:30 p.m. we will play Penny Bingo. Back by popular demand… Moment in History movies/documentaries. January 24 at 12:30 p.m. watch our Sugar and Salt series with the beginning of St. Clair/Sanilac Counties Sugar Industry, “Michigan Sugar Company and Marine City Sugar Company”. Then see how those sugar beets are harvested and turned into sugar in a few minutes. Then we will explore the Diamond Crystal Salt Company.
