Word Processing

Assignment 5

Today's Objectives:

1. We will change the color of the text.

2. We will utilize the superscript.

3. We will utilize the subscript.

4.  We will use a function called "Strikethrough" to cross out items on a list that we may have completed.

Directions: Type the following paragraphs. After typing the following paragraphs, save the assignment as "wp5".

Here I sit in my COA  class working on a word processing assignment. Change the text color to red by selecting the Format command on the Menu Bar and selecting Font. Then you would select Font Color. You can change it to Red by selecting on the down arrow and drag to the color red. Then you have to select OK on the bottom of the window. You have now changed the default color to red. It will stay red until you follow the same steps and change the color back to Automatic--which is black. Now follow the same steps and change this section to green. You can also change the text color after typing in the text by selecting the text in any fashion that we learned in word processing assignment 4. Then follow the same steps above and it will change that selected text color.

To change a portion of text to superscript, you can either change the format to superscript first or type the text first, select the text and then select Format, Font and Superscript or Subscript from the Effects section. Upon selecting either of these commands, you need to select OK from the bottom of the window.

5.  Suppose you have a list of items to complete and you store it on your computer.  You may want to denote the items you have completed, but do not want to erase them from the list.  You can draw a line through the items or "strike through" them with a word function.

-Select the word or words you want to draw the line through.  Then click on Format (drop down menu), Font and Strikethrough.  Then click on OK at the bottom of the window.
