November 1 at 2:00 p.m. Make & Take Cranberry Christmas Tree Center Piece. Supplies fee is $8.

Volunteer and help pack “Cookies for Veterans” on November 2 at 2:00 p.m. The Conrad Community Center volunteers will work with McLaren Port Huron Foundation and the Capac Community Health Team to provide handmade greeting cards and a box full of fresh cookies to veterans in the area as a thank you to them for their service to our country. All supplies will be provided, just bring a happy heart and willing hands!

November 12 at 12:00 noon Remembering Veteran’s, POW’s and MIA’s. Please join community members for lunch to honor our veterans. Please RSVP for lunch. Veteran’s will receive a complimentary lunch. We also have a new wall Memorial Board in our main room “IN HONOR OF ALL VETERANS”, any branch of service, any war or confl ict or still serving our country. Small brass plaques can be engraved and placed on the Memorial Board.

Hunters Theme Bunco Bash. $2 per person. November 15 beginning at 12:00 noon. Dress in camo or hunter’s orange, enjoy chili, baked potatoes, corn bread, desert and beverages for lunch served at 12:30 p.m. RSVP for lunch at 395-7889.

Sew Fun! Wednesday, November 7 and Wednesday, November 14. In November we will be sewing Mr. Gobbles, a colorful felt stand up turkey which will be a cute novelty accent to your Thanksgiving table or to give as a hostess gift. Sample and material list available at the center. The 2nd project will be Turkey Potholders, bring several fat quarters in fall shades. Beginners welcome! Learn to sew with one of the experienced members of this fun group! If you are new to sewing and would like to learn, we have supplies to share with you. If possible bring: material, sewing machine, scissors, needle, thread, seam ripper, and straight pins to each class. We also need help cutting, ironing and stuffing.

The Thanksgiving Party will be on November 21 at 12:00 noon. Thanksgiving Dinner with Thanksgiving Trivia followed by the Penny Game. Bring your pennies. RSVP at 395-7889.



December 1 from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. visit our 4th Annual Winter Berry Bazaar at the Conrad Community Center and our 14th Annual Cranberry Christmas Craft Show at the Capac Historical Society, 401 E. Kempf Street, Capac. Both events benefit the Conrad Community Center and offer homemade and homegrown items: fresh cranberries, cranberry gifts, holiday greens, soap, veggies, honey, jam, baked goods, soup jar mixes and sewn, knitted and crocheted gifts. Poinsettias will also be available.

December 2 at 2:00 p.m. DIY Snow Globe Class. Create a gift or a knickknack for yourself. This wide mouth jar filled with snow and a miniature car loaded down with a mini Christmas tree is sure to make you smile. Please bring a red toy vehicle (car, truck, jeep) in 1/64 size. All other supplies will be provided. Suggested donation is $7.

December 14 at 11:00 a.m. Volunteers are needed to pack our annual Senior to Senior Holiday Bags. The bags are filled with donated non-perishable food and handmade greeting cards. The group breaks for lunch at 12:30 p.m. (please RSVP 24 hours in advance for lunch). At 1:00 p.m. we will deliver the Holiday Bags and sing Christmas Carols with the recipients. Volunteers to transport the bags are also needed.

December 4 and December 11 beginning at 1:00 p.m. volunteers are needed to help package gifts for our Home Delivered Meal Clients. The theme for this year’s gift is the 12 Days of Christmas. We will need 100 of each item. The following items are being collected for this project: Instant Chicken Soup Mix, Gold Wrapped Chocolate Coins, Turtle & Dove Chocolate Candy (individually wrapped), small cans of Pineapple Rings, Chocolate Eggs, Milk Duds, Footies (slipper socks) and Popcorn Topping (small shaker seasoning). Monetary donations will also be accepted to purchase supplies needed. Join the lunch bunch at 12:00 noon for Two’s Days, bring a friend to lunch day and stay for the service project. RSVP for lunch 24 hours in advance.

December 18 at 12:00 noon Twos Days, bring a friend to lunch and stay for our Christmas Cookie Decorating activity, cookie cutter exchange and take home a plate of cookies.

Sew Fun will meet the first 3 Wednesdays in December and are making a multiple Tree Runner and Santa potholders. Stop in the center to see the samples and pick up a supply list.

December 20 at 12:00 noon kick off our Christmas Party with lunch, followed by the CHS Choir and Select Choir performing Holiday Music. RSVP for the event.

“Noon” Year’s Eve Party, December 27 at 12:00 noon with lunch at 12:30 p.m. Discussion on New Year’s Eve memories and thoughts for the new year. Bring pennies for the Penny Game, it’s easy and a fun game.
