DECEMBER 

On December 2 from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. we will be having our 3rd Annual Winter Berry Bazaar, Poinsettia Sales, Quilt Raffle, and Memory Tree Lighting with s’mores and horse drawn wagon rides.  Also from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. visit our 13th Annual Cranberry Christmas Craft Show located at the Capac Historical Museum located at 401 E. Kempf Street in Capac. Both events benefit the Conrad Community Center and offer homemade and homegrown items: fresh cranberries, cranberry gifts, holiday greens, soap, veggies, honey, jams, baked goods, jar mixes, sewn, knitted and crocheted gifts.

 
December 15 at 11:00 a.m volunteers are needed to pack our annual “Senior to Senior Holiday Bags.” The bags are filled with donated non-perishable food and handmade greeting cards. The group breaks for lunch at 12:30 p.m. (Please RSVP 24 hours in advance.) At 1:00 p.m. we deliver the Holiday Bags and sing Christmas Carols with the recipients. Volunteers to transport the bags are also needed.

 
We’re Booked will meet on December 19 at 1:00 p.m. for lunch at Steverino’s Restaurant in Emmett. Enjoy lunch and the warmth of the fireplace while we discuss this month’s selection The Curious Charms of Arthur Pepper by Phaedra Patrick. Books are available at the Capac Library. Individuals will pay for lunch on their own. RSVP to Lori by December 18 at 810-395-7889.

 
Paint & Go with instructor Char Ellis is offered on Friday, December 8 at 1:00 p.m. The class will be painting a Snowman Canister with a fleece hat. This will make a unique gift filled with popcorn, cookies or snacks. Supply fee is $5. Suggested instructor donation is $5. Pre-register at 810-395-7889.

 
RSVP for the Christmas Party, beginning at 12:00 noon on December 21. Enjoy lunch and play Christmas Carol Pictionary. Please, bring an inexpensive wrapped gift for our Matching Lyrics Gift Exchange.

 

JANUARY

New Year, New You! Biggest Loser Contest! Weigh-in January 3 – January 4. Contest runs January 3 until April 4, 2018. Contest fee is $25 and is open to CoA members. Cash prizes.


“Get Fit” January 22, January 24, January 26, January 29 and January 31 at 11:00 a.m. Informal session with topics on bones, joints, body fat analysis, brain work, flexibility and balance tests.


Paint & Go with instructor Char Ellis is offered on Friday, January 12 at 1:00 p.m. The class will be painting a banner with the word “WINTER” written in different letter styles and shapes using multiple colors and textures. Supply fee is $5 and the suggested instructor donation is $5. Preregister at 810-395- 7889.


“We’re Booked” will meet on January 30 at 2:00 p.m. This month’s selection is “Salt, Sugar, Fat: How the Food Giants Hooked Us” by Michael Moss. This book is jammed with interesting stories and facts on food, nutrition, business and marketing. Books are available at the Capac Library.
