Mission Moments

The Mission Statement of the Council on Aging, Inc.  is as follows:

"To coordinate programs that promote and safeguard the independence and well-being of the senior citizens of St. Clair County".

On this page, we will share some stories of how our members and staff make the Agency Mission a reality.  There is so much that so many of you do to make a difference.  We will highlight some of these accounts here.

The Council on Aging strives to partner with other Community agencies as we work on our mission.  The Capac Senior Center received a call from the Capac Chief of Police during the recent holidays and asked if there was a needy senior in the community that the Department could kind of "adopt" for the holidays.

Our Senior Nutrition drivers, Kim and Pat readily identified a gentleman on their route who they knew was in need of assistance.

On December 23rd, the Chief came to the Capac Center with a huge donation for the gentleman.  For Christmas, our senior friend received ham, microwave meals, popcorn, socks, heavy flannel shirts, canned goods and even some food for his beloved dog.

The gentleman whose Christmas was made much brighter and the Council on Aging are grateful for the generosity of the Capac Police Department.  Thanks for the opportunity to be a partner with our devoted and responsible friends.
